School in Safan\u00e9 (Burkina Faso)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The project <b><i>&#8220;Educating people to build the future&#8221;<\/i><\/b> was launched in Safan\u00e9&nbsp; by Delwende and Sisters of Consolation in 1998-1999 with one main objective: the training ( teaching and education ) of children and young people to contribute to the development of the people Burkinabe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project enables children from primary school:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Avoid illiteracy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare children to access the institute or secondary school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Allows continuity in the primary education process of the 302 children attending the school \u201cNotre Dame of the Consolation\u201c&nbsp; and the social and&nbsp; health intervention that take place in their family through school of parents, and the social endowment that the school supposes to the study of youth in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school is composed ofof four small buildings in a closed enclosure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The first has 6 classrooms, in which the six courses of the local Key Stage education are held.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second has a Library and a First Aid station.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The third building is the traditional open construction called &#8220;appat\u00e1n&#8221;, which has electric lights and is used as a study room for all the students of the area, including secondary students who have free access to all facilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The last one is the building where teachers 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Although since 2010 the Local Authorities have helped the Safan\u00e9 School by paying the wages of teachers, the rest of school running costs (nursery, catering, materials,etc..) is funded by Delwende.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Families pay a token amount (less than one euro per month), equivalent to what would be charged in the few public schools and include daily meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 2013 Delwende provide financial support to extend the school in order to start providing further post-primary education, which replaces the high school with the new education policy in&nbsp; country&nbsp; &#8220;school for all\u201c. Its aim is that all children attend school until age 15, since we want school to cover this whole cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This area of \u200b\u200bthe country has a serious terrorism problem that causes flight. It&#8217;s an issue that doesn&#8217;t facilitate education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year 2015 children have sent us some small testimony of gratitude for having the opportunity to study in the school.
