There are 50 children and adolescents at risk of social exclusion with whom the Center has been working. The project that will be developed with children and adolescents is to carry out the continuity of a comprehensive work, which provides a harmonious and pleasant environment that facilitates users’ search for responsibility, coexistence, autonomy, protagonism and teamwork, supported by human and Christians. Directly and indirectly, families also receive help and even moments of training, support and donations according to the demands presented.

The Social Center aims to provide opportunities, means and conditions for basic education, vocational qualification, sport, art and leisure, improving life and income generation. This is done through workshops such as school reinforcement, crafts, sports, music and reading incentives. Along with the educators, there is support from the technical team of the social worker and a pedagogical coordinator. All workshops are organized within a general project, the pedagogy of each workshop is playful, accompanied by semi-annual and monthly planning, monthly reports, evaluation of each activity and the annual presentation of all works.

Project actions

At present, the communities around the School are being formed from large families whom are in a daily and continuously race for survival. Houses and educational institutions were built, and basic medical assistance was incremented around the area. The supply service is very precarious in the area, there are constant failures in the water service, which generates many water cuts and sometimes with electricity lost. This generates problems with hygiene, health, communication, public transport, etc.

On top of the mentioned above, there is a constant threat of a big pool of balckwater in front of the school.

The school is being guided by the “Sisters of Consolation”, and inspired by the educational principles of Fe y Algeria and the charisma of Consolation.

The internal organization responds to a vision with three well-defined dimensions: a humanizing, integrating and liberating education. These dimensions are present in any action that takes place in different school environments.

For “Fe y Alegría”, to educate you must shape your heart, mind, the hands of the people, believes in quality education, hence education which foment man and woman’s whom are aware of their potentials and the reality that surrounds them.

The School takes care of 440 students during morning and afternoon shifts, in 7 classrooms, in ages between 5 and 12 years old.

Fe y Alegría is an International Movement of Popular Education and Social Promotion, which aimed to help the poor population to transform the societies to base on the values of justice, freedom, participation, fraternity, respect for diversity and solidarity.

The main objective is to build a quality education for the neediest sectors of Caicara del Orinoco in Venezuela.

As the founder of Fe y Alegría expresses: “The education of the poor cannot be poor education”. It is a duty to give the children of the school a quality education based on values, that prepares them to serve the Venezuelan society.

Project actions

The goal of the center is to create an educational space for integration and social promotion for children, of the sector and in the surrounding communities.

Many of the children and adolescents come to school from surrounding communities as Charumani, Chacoma Chojlla, Muruta ,Joco, Pampa, Collana, Machacamarca, etc. The children’s arrives to school on the morning and on their way back they will lunch in the center dining room, will carry out their tasks, and will return to their houses at afternoon, if they live far away they will have in their disposal rooms to stay during the week.

Currently the center serves 96 children and adolescents, between 3 to 16 years.

The center offers more than providing food, such as:

• A comprehensive quality education to those who do not have opportunities for the social injustice, and to the lack of economic resources to do this.
• Train believers, creative, community-based, autonomous, with a critical sense to commit in the transformation and economic development of the environment in which they live.

Another objective of the project is to train the women and not surrender to the macho culture, in a society where women don´t have many possibilities

• Provide especially to the moms a human training programs and job training Christian – with different types of workshops (knitting, sewing, crafts, etc.).

Project actions

In the middle of the expansion that this commune has experienced, in the heart of the zone known as La Pampa, since the year 200, is found the called “toma de la Erradicacion”. Around 1,200 families of limited resources, have settled in houses built from cholguan wood, nylon roof and no basic services.

The objective of the project is helping families that are deeply deprived from the most basic needs with the care that they require through small ventures, which can empower them with a sense of dignity and economically so they can help their children with education and a better life. To meet this important objective several routes have been defined:

• Work with young volunteers on the promotion of human values, for children and youngster which are socially vulnerable.
• Facilitate entrepreneurships (social workshops, self-help, couture, paintwork) to women with no education, empowering them with tools to earn their living, giving them access to more opportunities.
• Guide and rehabilitate youngsters vulnerable to drug use, alcoholism or prostitution.

The project currently counts with a van, acquired on 2016 thanks to Delwende, to transport the donations through the long distances and sometimes there are no funds to pay these travels. It also helps to keep in touch with the families on site, to keep their spirits and dignity high, from a society that has marginalized and mark out them, due to the precarious conditions they live in. the van allows to make easier to achieve the project objectives.

Project actions

In this context, college CEMAR offers families a comprehensive Educational service for their children: giving children and teenagers a holistic education to form ethical, fair and supportive citizens.

The primary objective of the project is to provide children and teenagers, for families in need, with quality education, shaping men and women with intellectual knowledge, on solidarity and on justice.

Due to the crisis affecting Brazil, many parents are unemployed or on minimum wage. The parents continue to plead and asking college CEMAR’s help since the state schools do not provide the same level of education, besides having violence and drug issues. The economic resources of the College CEMAR have been decreasing year by year since each time bigger subsidies on student tuition fees are required, in order to allow the families to keep their children at school.

Here is where Delwende can collaborate with funds to buy school supplies. Computer equipment and teaching material to prepare better the children / teenagers and to prepare the teachers /for the periodical school meeting.
